Interweaving threads of migration and climate justice

A day of talks and listening sessions exploring the interwoven connections between the climate crisis, migration, culture, tradition.

This was a partnership between the Eden Project, Art Reach and Counterpoints Arts, bringing artists Dhaqan Collective and Kaajal Modi to the Eden Project for a public programme exploring the themes of migration and climate justice.

Above the desert: listening session with Dhaqan Collective

Fozia Ismail and Ayan Cilmi, from the Dhaqan Collective, created a listening session, which highlighted the significance of Somali women’s weaving songs and oral storytelling traditions. The audience was guided through an audio soundscape that explored the cultural importance of the Galool tree, and concluded with networking and Somali hospitality.
